Our Story

Velvet Oasis Events Is Born

In August 2015, Velvet Oasis Events made it's intro to the hospitality industry in the DFW metroplex. Specializing in helping couples, communities and organizations have a better event experience.

Tomica Thompson is the owner and executive coordinator of Velvet Oasis Events. She has spent the last 20 years giving over and beyond customer service in the Fort Worth area.

As a mother of eight children and seven grandchildren, she continues to celebrate life. Tomica has overcome homelessness and poverty by pushing forward, prayer and sharing her testimony of living in shelters with others. She's no stranger to hard work and has a passion for great customer service. After years of banquet serving, bartending, event planning and coordinating for friends and non-profit organizations, she decided to start her own business.

Tomica is a graduate of Tarrant County College Certified Wedding and Event Planning. A member of Tarrant County Homeless Coalition Advisory Council, Build-A-Better-Hood, Uplift Generation, Mothers Against Police Brutality, and Pura Vida Afro-latin Youth. She continues to provide over and beyond customer service in every event.

Terms and Conditions

$50 cleaning fee will be assessed if items are returned with excessive stains or dirt as determined by Velvet Oasis Events.

A pre-negotiated deposit is required to hold rental items and event date. Deposit will be applied to final bill and balance will be due before or on event date.

The date of service and rental items are not reserved until deposit and signed rental agreement are submitted to and received by Velvet Oasis Events. Half of the deposit paid is non refundable.

Renter shall return items or have them ready for pick up on date and by time specified on invoice. Additional daily rental fees will apply for late returns.

Cancellation of any item or service within 48 hours of scheduled delivery or pick up will result in a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellation of entire order must be done 30 days prior to event date or entire deposit will be forfeited.

Invoice is to be paid in full prior to or at time of customer pick-up or Velvet Oasis Events delivery.

The renter is responsible for loss or damage of items and will pay for the cost of replacement or repair. This cost will be assessed within 5 days of return and presented in a separate invoice payable within 15 days.

The replacement value of items will be determined by age and condition at time of rental.

The renter agrees that Velvet Oasis Events holds no liability for any damage or injury caused by the use of rental items to renter or any third party.

The renter assumes all risk of personal property damage or personal injury and if any accident involving Velvet Oasis Events rental items has occurred while it is in renter’s possession, renter shall make Velvet Oasis Events aware by written statement of details of occurrence of event including police report and names and addresses of witnesses.

There is no warranty that rented items are free of defects
